continuing from yesterday night! while we were enjoying our simple dinner, we met 2 (Swedish) guys at our guesthouse. we chatted about the places they've visited and places that we're planning to visit. We told them that we're planning to visit the Tsukiji Fish market tomorrow and one of the guys- Fredrik commented that he really really wanted to visit the Tsukiji fish market! and as they're leaving the next day evening, we invited them to join us the next morning! so we scheduled to meet at 5am tomorrow but..
ok! my fault! i set the alarm wrongly! set according to singapore time so ended up woking up late n gotta rush our wateva... n hahaha.. our makeup ended up kinda dasai (cmi -> cannot make it) that day! so sorry to keep Fredrik waiting. oh yea..only Fredrik came along with us coz his friend was too lazy to climb out of bed tt early!
so we rushed off to Tsukiji.
It's freaking COLD in the morning!! and super dark! ( around 5am)
There's a raw tuna auction till 6.15am and we were rushing to see that.
we were chatting happily on the subway and we MISSED OUR STOP!!
gosh gosh gosh!
so ended up, we reached there at about 6.10am.
We were rushing really crazily.
and we saw the notice on the subway station.
TSUKIJI MARKET IS CLOSED FOR THE DAY!!
We woke up for nothing!?!
but we still decided to go to Tsukiji market..
AT LEAST i must feast on the SASHIMIs~~
EMPTY EMPTY EMPTY...(_ _)
BUT! we are lucky enough to have ONE FISH STALL open and ONE SUSHI STALL open on that day.
on a happier note, the sushi we had was fabulous!
mine! oishisou desho~!
All the sets come with a seafood miso and also a grilled fish!
Seafood miso! it's HEAVENLY!!
Mr. GRILLED FISH~
It's rumored saying that the sashimi in Tsukiji is the BEST....
WE DECLARED THAT...
IT'S ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!
the salmon roe they served is the best that i've had!
you know, sometimes salmon roe will have a strong fishy smell but this is just PURE SWEETNESS~ amai amai~
and the uni~~
just melts in my mouth~
some photos of the resturant:
the chef has got fast fingers and we had a hard time snapping good photos of him. wahah
and then we wanted to take some photographs of Fredrik.
he wasn't very pleased with the photo so we took another.
and he was like,
" hmm.. i'm going pose like a model! "
okay model~ are you ready? ^^;
wahaha! what's this?! good one!
end up, we concluded that the first photograph that we took was the best. hahaha
he offered to help us take photo.
and he was like praising,
" cool! you guys are like models! "
then delightfully we view that shot he took.
it's so ugly that we decided to colour our faces! wahaha
( = =) was Fredrik trying to take revenge or... THAT was his impression of MODELS?
actually it's not his fault.. Our make up was CMI that day. haha
and we took some photos outside the restaurant after we finished.
all by my camera's self-timer by the way. hahah. since we couldn't trush each other's talent in taking photographs! >.<
after that, Fredrik went back to the hotel while we headed off to ASAKUSA!
PS: just to clarify, it's not that we didn't do research before heading down to Tsukiji. We do know that it's closed every sunday. However, Tsukiji market has an unroutined one day off every month..... little do we know that we were lucky enough to go there on that special selected day. (_ _)
